Haiti is a Developed Nation!
BEL Initiative is seeking 20 Haiti-based entrepreneurs for their 2020 cohort.
ATLANTA, GA – BEL Initiative, the entrepreneurship program of the Georgia Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce, has been providing education, mentorship, access to resources and exposure to entrepreneurs from Haiti since 2017. With it’s bold mission and a brand new identity to match, they are proud to announce are accepting applications for the 2020 Cohort.
With a vision of Haiti as a developed nation, the fellowship seeks entrepreneurs from all 10 departments in Haiti. Two entrepreneurs from each department will be selected. In the past few women have applied, and we want to increase female participation. We are encouraging qualified female to apply.
In addition to being hosted in multiple cities and university campuses in the U.S. for the summer, the fellows benefit from a rigorous, world class start-up bootcamp ensuring they master Lean Launchpad methodologies endorsed by the National Science Foundation I-Corps. Fellows will be exposed to best business practices while improving their business acumen and refining their existing business models. The program will end with a “SharkTank” like pitch event where fellows get the opportunity to pitch to accredited investors.
Co-founder and Program Director, Ronald Cetoute announced that the #BEL2020Vision is to further Haiti’s development by training a cohort made of Haiti-based entrepreneurs with businesses that support the UNDP Sustainable Development Goals in Haiti, and connect them to resources and funding opportunities. “This is your chance to unlock Haiti for good. We want the best that Haiti has to offer in this program”.
The 2020 program is scheduled for July 17th until August 8th, 2020 in Atlanta and Iowa City. Applications open November 11th, 2019 and deadline to submit is January 31st, 2020.
