Meet Jean-Max Dumond, evidence that people can use technology to find solutions in Haiti. In an interview with The Observers, Jean stated he built the robot for his 3-year old son who speaks very little and usually responds using gestures. “Jean didn’t have the money to take him to see a specialist to get a diagnosis, but noticed his son liked speaking with Google voice recognition software. This sparked the idea to build a robot he could converse with.”
