Phone Interviews are for applicants who have passed the application evaluation stage of the process.
Before interviewing, we recommend having the applicants file in front of you to refresh your memory on the applicant and avoid confusion between similar candidates.
Instructions for phone interview:
- Thank the interviewee for joining call. Give brief Introduction of interviewers
- Explain structure of interview to interviewee (we will ask you a few questions, and at the end give you chance to ask us questions you may have)

- Take a few questions from interviewee. Here are some BEL FAQs you may receive. Any questions you don’t have an answer to, simply make note and let them know a team member will reach out with an answer.
- Complete form below and submit
You can use the following questions as a guide for the interview. Asking these questions will allow you to provide a score to the evaluation fields below. However, you are not limited to the question below, feel free to ask other appropriate questions in relation to the applicant’s file or businesses if you need more understanding. Compare the information from the application to the interviewee’s responses to make sure it is consistent.

**Keep in mind that we are NOT expecting applicants to be PERFECT businessmen and women, so do not hold them to these standards. The program exists to help them through entrepreneurship education and access to resources. We are ideally searching for those in startup stage, growth stage and established stage.
